About Yala

About yala Botanical Garden

The Yala Botanical Garden—also known as Mirijjawila Botanical Garden—is a serene escape in Sri Lanka’s southern dry zone, close to Yala National Park. Spanning 300 acres, it focuses on conserving dry zone flora and features themed gardens for cacti, butterflies, medicinal plants, and ornamental flowers, connected by scenic nature trails.

The garden also features a butterfly sanctuary and lakes, offering a serene environment for nature enthusiasts.

Mirijjawila Botanical Garden is open daily from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, with an entrance fee of LKR 3,000 per foreign adult.
